GLORY.
By Sharlene Provilus
It exceeds our expectations.
Hands raise, our hearts racing,
overwhelmed by Your love and patience.
Anticipating the day when we see You face to face.
Never absent, always active,
You equipped us for this race.
As we reflect upon Your grace,
we’re reminded of Your timing.
Well before we ever fell,
You foresaw it and rewinded the consequence.Establishing the cross first was evidence of Your mindfulness.
Amazing! How could I have been so blind to this?
Now indebted to Your commitment.
It cemented our place in heaven.Regularly breaking leaven to symbolize
how Christ was crucified when
He allowed us to strip Him of His dignity.
Our enmity tore fresh flesh from His back,
but He backed us up before the accuser.
Making a public spectacle of our abuser.
They nailed Him to the cross along with our sins.
Securing eternal victory, we now marvel at His Divinity.
Oh, what a beautiful name it is.The impression of God’s favor has been imprinted on our hearts.
Infatuated with the depth of His love,
we are saturated by the cleansing of His blood—
spilled as a sacrifice that would suffice.
It was more than payment, when He paid it.
Jesus made His way through the rugged path to the cross
so we’d no longer be wandering lost through this journey of life.
His decision to endure was
for the joy set before Him.
He knew the moment we would accept His grace and adore Him,
adorn Him with our true worship and intentional praise.
Oh, what great love would lay down His life for someone like me.
Someone like you.
We now live because He lives;
we’re free because He made us free.
Accepted in the Beloved,
glory surrounds us on every side.
He is our rock, refuge, reputation, and pride. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain.
Why do you look for the living amongst the dead?He is not here; He has risen....
Jesus said, I am the resurrection and the life.
Conquering the grave with all power and all glory.
O death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your sting?
All glory, honor, majesty, and dominion belongs to our King.
He is risen.
ABOUT
THESE
LINES
I love this piece because it reminds me of who God is—and who He has always been in our lives. I originally wrote it around the Easter season as part of a production. In that moment, I wanted to capture both the weight of the cross and the wonder of the resurrection.
Even though it was written with Easter in mind, I believe it’s just as relevant today. God’s glory isn’t confined to one weekend on the calendar—it surrounds us every single day. We don’t need to wait for a holiday to celebrate Him. Every day is an invitation to pause, reflect, and give Him praise for who He is, what He’s done, and how He continues to move in our lives.
YOUR
TURN
Glory has a way of slipping into the ordinary—light breaking through a window, mercy meeting you in the middle of a hard day, or joy rising when you least expect it. Where has His glory surprised you lately?
